2nd Annual "Free and Charitable Clinic Week

St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic, Inc., a free clinic serving Waukesha County, is celebrating the 2nd annual “Free and Charitable Clinic Week” in the state of Wisconsin, April 3rd – 9th.

On Friday, April 7th from 12:00pm to 1:30pm, the clinic welcomes the Waukesha County community to visit and tour the agency. The clinic is located at 826 N. East Ave. in downtown Waukesha. Light refreshments will be offered.

As our nation debates the future of healthcare, we in our community are faced with one reality, which is the continued need for the services provided by St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic. Annually, nearly 600 uninsured individuals who reside, work, or attend higher education in the Waukesha County community receive primary care, access to prescriptions, behavioral health, labs and diagnostic testing, health education, and support to health and human service programs in out county. Specialty care including monthly women’s health, podiatry, and physical therapy is offered each month. The clinic also offers Latino Health and Homeless Outreach programs. In 2016, St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic continued building its relationship with ProHealth Care’s Waukesha Family Practice and Waukesha Family Medicine Residency in laying the foundation of its “Continuity of Care” healthcare model. This model provides a multi-disciplinary approach to health care in chronic disease management and helping patients achieve individual health goals.

St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic has been serving the Waukesha County community for 40 years! These critical services are provided by a network of 60+ dedicated volunteers and supported by ProHealth Care, Aurora Health Care, Waukesha County, Waukesha Noon Kiwanis; and in partnership with many nonprofits including the Hope Center, Salvation Army, National Alliance on Mental Illness, and The Women’s Center. It is because of the generosity and compassion by many community members, churches, civic organizations, groups, and businesses that we are able to provide quality and compassionate care. Thank you for your commitment to support the health of the underserved in our community.

The services provided to our neighbors is life saving and life changing. We at St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic are the community’s response to our local health care need.  Patients are important to St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic and they are important to our community. There are an estimated 29 million Americans who still do not have access to health care even with the Affordable Care Act. As of 2015, it is estimated that 6% of Waukesha County community members did not have health coverage in the past 12 months. St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic is one of the 1,200 Free and Charitable Clinics and Pharmacies that are working at the grassroots level with little to no federal or state funding to provide health care to those who do not have access.  Since 1977, as St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic has done, no matter the discussions in Washington, we along with our counter parts nationwide will continue to work to build a healthy America, one person at a time.

In honor of the 2nd annual “Free and Charitable Clinic Week”, classes in partnership with Bryant & Stratton College are being offered throughout the month of April that are free and open to the public. All classes are at the Waukesha Family Practice Center at 210 NW Barstow Street, Waukesha in the lower level community room. Session times are 6pm or 7pm.
