We had the great honor of meeting with state representatives in Madison to advocate for the over 100 Free and Charitable Clinics in the state of Wisconsin. The day concluded with a Gala in celebration of Wisconsin Association of Free and Charitable Clinic Day at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.
SJMC hosted three health focused workshops for patients, volunteers, and community members. Staff nurses lead classes on the topics of Women's Health (in Spanish) and Diabetes/Hypertension care and management. We were also privileged to have Lee Clay from Waukesha county to present a NARCAN training for us to finish out the week. As a result of this training, over 20 community members are now trained in the administration of life-saving NARCAN!
SJMC was featured on Ellenbecker Investment Group's Community Connections Radio -WISN AM 1130. Executive Director, Jessica and Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator, Kiersten were both featured on-air. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the great work being done at SJMC, spread awareness for community resources, and talk up WI Free and Charitable Clinic Week.
